B&B Ice Cream and Candy is a family owned and operated chain of restaurants in Chicago. The B&B story began in the 1980’s when Grandma and Granddaddy Brazley owned a food and gameroom on the Southside of Chicago in the Auburn Gresham community on the 84th block of Racine. The original store closed in the late 80’s, but the Brazley family continued to grow.  

 

Fast forward to 2016, the Brazley's granddaughter, Ellen Brazley, and her husband, Bernard Spencer, opened B&B Ice Cream and Candy with the help of their daughter, Lauren. B&B Ice Cream and Candy began on the 82nd block of Racine in the same neighborhood just 2 blocks away from Grandma and Granddaddy Brazley's original store!. Accordingly, B&B stands for Brazley and Bernard to pay homage to the original Brazley store while acknowledging the bigger current family picture. Our brand mascots, Grandma Bee and Grandpa Bee, are meant to represent the beautiful B&B origin story.

 

Brazley food and gameroom from the 80's is delightfully etched in the memories of many adults in the Auburn Gresham community. B&B Ice Cream and Candy aims to hold the same sentimental value to today’s youth and adults throughout the city of Chicago. Currently, Patrick Brazley, Ellen's brother and Grandma/Granddaddy Brazley's grandson, owns the Woodlawn location on the east side of Chicago. On top of that, Ellen and Bernard's daughter, Lauren, owns the Brainerd location on the far Southside of Chicago. Their teenage son, Jacob, is not only a young manager but he is also a very friendly face you can typically see at the original Auburn Gresham location. We are the true definition of a Chicago family brand.
